Recently, the Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society reached out to us to offer a pledge to match funds from other clubs and organizations donated to the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail from March 8 to June 30, 2021, up to $3,500. CCCTS is a non-profit organization for active adults of all ages. Members are mainly retired people and others who enjoy recreational cycling in BC, other provinces, the USA, and countries abroad.
Community-generated capital funding is needed so the rail trail inter-jurisdictional partners can continue to apply for provincial and federal grants to start building the trail.
Four years ago, the Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society was fortunate to receive funds from the estate of a member of our club. Since receiving these funds, we’ve donated to other organizations that do great work related to cycling. The Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail is a project worth supporting!
Many thanks to these members of the (informal) Old Guys Cycle and Ski Group who donated the full $3,500 to trigger the matching donation from CCCTS:
